Case Manager (Generalist)

The Case Manager will assist clients by providing support services that help build strong families and move them to permanent stable housing that they maintain independently. Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to, needs assessment, establishing a family support plan, maintaining communications and relationships among all parties involved, referrals to all appropriate social services / community programs, advocacy, and coordination of services.

Some essential duties include:

    • Develop a family support plan for each client based on the family’s strengths and needs.
    • Assists clients with applications for benefits including food stamps, TANF, Medicaid, and child support.
    • Coordinate requests for financial assistance.
    • Assists client with obtaining childcare and enrolling child(ren) in school.
    • Develop a discharge plan for each client.
    • Document all services and linkages to community resources according to agency policies and procedures.
    • Build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with clients and community agencies.
    • Maintain completeness and confidentiality of all client files.
    • Maintain accurate and complete case notes and clients records from intake to goal progress and attainment in UNITY in order to track, monitor, and report on outcomes and achievements.
    • Facilitate groups that address life skills, housing, parenting, employment, and other topics as needs arise.
    • There will be occasional home visits and transporting clients in company van

This position is funded in part or in whole by grant funds. Continued employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of grants funds which are reviewed on an annual basis.

A Bachelor’s Degree is required. A minimum of two-years of case management experience. Experience in housing, homelessness, and low-income populations preferred. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people and organizations.  DCF background clearance, fingerprinting and drug testing are required. Valid Florida driver’s license is required.

On-Call Residential Assistant

Part-Time Residential Assistant 

The On-Call Residential Assistant must have the availability to provide coverage on short at any time (mornings/afternoons/evenings/overnights).

The Part-Time Residential Assistant will provide coverage from 3:00pm -11:00pm Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Residential Assistants provide residential care and support to 23 maternity residents at Alpha House of Tampa.  Responsibilities include supervision of residents, transportation to appointments/school, etc., emotional support, and assistance in caring for newborns, infants and toddlers.

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.  A minimum one (1) year experience working in the human services field is required. Participate in a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education in each year of employment.  Receive and maintain CPR and Basic First Aid certification.  DCF background clearance and fingerprinting required.  Must have a current driver’s license in good standing and be able to be covered by the organization’s auto insurance policy.  Candidate must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

Bi-lingual a plus.
