Part-Time Residential Assistant 

The GRANT WRITER is responsible for writing inquiries, letters, and proposals requesting public and private support for Alpha House of Tampa’s current programs and for its expansion as the community’s first Family Housing Solutions Center. Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred. Self-starter with five to seven years of demonstrated success in: (1) grant writing and reporting in the nonprofit field; (2) managing and forging relationships with multiple grant funded sources; and (3) developing, writing, and submitting fundraising proposals and supporting documentation with the objective of maximizing grants from current and new funders. DCF background clearance and fingerprinting required.  Must have a current driver’s license in good standing and be able to be covered by the organization’s auto insurance policy. Candidate must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

The ON-CALL RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT must have the availability to provide coverage on short at any time (mornings/afternoons/evenings/overnights). The PART-TIME RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT will provide coverage from 3:00pm -11:00pm Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Residential Assistants provide residential care and support to 23 residents at Alpha House of Tampa.  Responsibilities include supervision of residents, transportation to appointments, etc., emotional support, and assistance in caring for newborns, infants, and toddlers.

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.  A minimum one (1) year experience working in the human services field is required. Participate in a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education in each year of employment.  Receive and maintain CPR and Basic First Aid certification.  DCF background clearance and fingerprinting required.  Must have a current driver’s license in good standing and be able to be covered by the organization’s auto insurance policy.  Candidate must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

Bi-lingual a plus.
